After many years in churches we don’t recall ever hearing a message, sermon or talk about patient endurance. The term may have been used in passing or in some theological framework but we have never heard a teacher or pastor really explain what patient endurance is. By not discussing the importance of patient endurance these people have done a disservice to the Body of Christ. For it is only with patient endurance that we can withstand the journey through the wilderness. This is such an important concept we are going to take this blog entry to illustrate it. We hope this picture will inspire you to patiently endure through all the testing God will take you through as you follow Him in obedience.
Instead of trying to hopelessly explain what patient endurance is with mere words we have decided to show you video. This video is a clip from our favorite movie, The Big Country. In this clip you will see the main character, Jim McKay, and a horse called ‘Old Thunder’. You could say that Jim McKay is a sojourner and ‘Old Thunder’ is the wilderness. We have yet to find a better visual of patient endurance. Enjoy.
