After many years in churches we don’t recall ever hearing a message, sermon or talk about patient endurance. The term may have been used in passing or in some theological framework but we have never heard a teacher or pastor really explain what patient endurance is. By not discussing the importance of this topic these people have done a disservice to the Body of Christ. For it is only when learn to patiently endure that we can withstand the journey through the wilderness.
A video of patient endurance
This is such an important concept we are going to take this blog entry to illustrate it. We hope this picture will inspire you to patiently endure through all the testing God will take you through as you follow Him in obedience. In some small way this is a picture of our testimony.
Instead of trying to hopelessly explain what patient endurance is with mere words we have decided to show you through this visual. This video is a clip from our favorite movie, The Big Country. In this clip you will see the main character, Jim McKay, and a horse called ‘Old Thunder’. You could say that Jim McKay is a sojourner and ‘Old Thunder’ is the wilderness. We have yet to find a better visual of what it takes to patiently endure. Enjoy.
Blessings,
Homer and Wanda

Homer, what a perfect clip to convey patient endurance! Loved it. And Gregory Peck was pretty amazing in any role he undertook. 🙂
Oh yes. We have not found a better character developed than Gregory Peck’s rendition of Jim McKay. It has been an inspiration ever since I first saw it.

A very awesome share. Be blessed as you wait on the LORD. His promises are VALID beyond our ability to understand. Glory to God in the HIGHEST, Amen.

Patience is an attribute of the Spirit. God knew we would need it to walk out our Christian Faith. I’m glad He teaches us to be patient.
When I think about patient endurance, I think about Jesus patiently enduring that cross to pay for my sins. I think about Him patiently enduring as He pursued me all those years while I ran from Him. And still today, when I run like Jonah, afraid to step out of my comfort zone, He patiently endures. What an example!
Thanks for linking up at InstaEncouragements!
Amen! Blessings to you!
Excellent excellent excellent!
I had a word from the Lord many months ago when I was recuperating from Covid pneumonia he told me patient endurance!
I had been praying that I would have endurance until the end. What an awesome God, we serve.
Thank Lin. We are glad our little contribution was a benefit to you.
Blessings,
